Terms and Conditions
ORDERING
- Pricing is based off the number of servings required and the design you request.
- Portion sizes are approximate and will vary according to how the cake is cut.
- Your cake will be made fresh and with quality ingredients. I give the same attention to detail to each cake as I would if it were for one of my own family members.
- Unfortunately, I am unable to offer allergen free cakes at this time (i.e. nuts, dairy, eggs or gluten). Please inform me of any allergies at the time of ordering.
- Availability is subject to change if cake is not booked within 48 hours of original request.
PAYMENT
- Payment is required in full at the time of ordering for everything except cakes, i.e. brownies, cookies, scones, cupcakes, etc
- A 50% deposit is required for all cake orders at the time of booking in order to secure your date and is due within 24 hours of the invoice date.
***Celebration cakes - remaining balance is due 7 days before cake is due.
***Wedding cakes – remaining balance is due 30 days before cake is due.
- Cakes ordered within 7 days of being due must be paid for in full at the time the order is placed.
- Deposits are non-refundable
- Design adjustments are subject to price change and only permitted if approved by me and will depend on time required and my schedule.
- Payment methods accepted – Stripe.com, Paypal, Cash App, Venmo, Cash and Bank Transfer
CANCELLATIONS
- If orders are cancelled less than 14 days before due date, I reserve the right to require payment in full for the invoice total. Please understand that dates are booked and held therefore not allowing any other orders to be placed within the same time period. Material and ingredients are also purchased at that point and the cost cannot be absorbed by me in the event of a cancellation within that time frame.
- Cancellations must be made by the customer, in writing and given directly to me via email or mail.
- Under emergency situations cake orders can be rescheduled if a date can be agreed upon, otherwise it will result in a cancellation. (see above)
PICK UP, DELIVERY AND SET UP
- Pick up times are flexible but must be agreed upon as early as possible, minimum 7 days in advance.
- All cakes that are more than 1 tier are properly supported and must be transported with care in order to prevent damage. An instructional video on how to dismantle and serve a tiered cake can be sent upon request.
- ALL cakes MUST be placed on the floor board of your vehicle, AC on and not placed on a car seat or someone’s lap. Not taking this precaution will most likely result in damage to your cake.
- Delivery and set up are available if desired, mileage and hourly rate will apply.
- It is the clients responsibility to make the necessary arrangements to have a prepared table for the set up.
- Kj’s Bakery is not liable for any damage to the cake after it has left our possession, whether it is picked up or delivered.

STORAGE AND CONSUMPTION
- All cakes are made fresh and without additional preservatives and therefore have a limited shelf life. Please consume within 48 hours for optimum freshness and taste.
- It is advised that fondant cakes and/or decorations are NOT refrigerated as it will alter the appearance and integrity of both the cake and decorations.
- It is the clients’ responsibility to be cautious of and remove any fresh flowers and/or decorations prior to serving the cake. Fresh flowers can contain contaminants such as insects and/or pesticides.
- For wedding cakes, it is up to the client to make arrangements with their florist to obtain any flowers needed for the cake. I prefer to be the one preparing and placing all fresh flowers that will go onto the cake to ensure it’s done properly and to my satisfaction. After all, I take great pride in my work and want to do everything in my power to ensure it is the cake you envisioned.
***Charges will apply for prepping and placing fresh flowers at the venue.
COMPLAINTS
- Every single cake is carefully prepared and inspected before turning it over to you, the client. I take great pride in providing a delicious and beautiful cake that will help to create memories for those special events in your life. If there are any issues with the appearance of your cake please notify me at the time the cake is released to you. Whenever possible, I will do everything in my power to rectify any issues.
- Any issues that are observed after the cake is in your possession must be immediately brought to my attention. A photo of the issue and 75% of the uneaten product must be returned to me within 24 hours of the cake leaving my possession so that I can properly assess and address the issue.
- Refunds (full or partial) are not given due to mistakes made by the client, including but not limited to misspelled names or a change of mind.
- I am not responsible for damages due to weather conditions or by a venue, guest or staff at any given event.
*Kj’s Bakery reserves the right to use full and/or partial images of all creations on social media.
